Aymes opens in Paris

Confidential jewelery Brand Aymes just opened a boutique in Paris, located at 4 place de Valois, 75001 Palais Royal.

2011-12-Aymes.jpg

The place seems pretty original (See picture above) with its white design, made of lacquer and futuristic lights. To be honest, it looks to me much more like a fashion brand' flagships than a jewelry shop and I wonder how the customers will perceive the place as they might be used to jewelery boutiques with very different design...

Happy Christmas!

Some of you might know already the French electronic music duo Justice consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. Known for incorporating a strong rock and indie influence into their music and image, Justice is one of the most successful groups on Ed Banger Records and is well-known for the incredibly good sounds "We are your friends" they played a couple of years ago.

In 2008, Justice did a mix for the Dior Homme Summer 2009 Fashion Show, much like Daft Punk did for Louis Vuitton in 2007. The track, now known as Planisphere, was released in four parts on the band's MySpace page, with an extra final cut that did not make it into the fashion show mix (known as "Planisphere IV", or "Planisphere Final").

This track is good. I mean, more than good. Turn the sound loud and enjoy! That's my way to wish you a Happy Christmas!

The glittering tree of Swarovski

In Zurich, once again... This city is the real heart of Switzerland. Its has its own pace of life, its own atmosphere, not as dynamic as Paris but more inspiring than Geneva. To give the statement more credit, just let me add that the cool bag brand Freitag was created here a couple of years ago.

Every year, the city offers a great spectacle during Christmas time and every street glitters. One of the must-sees is the Swarovski X-Mas tree that finds its place in the main hall of Zurich HB train station. So big, so impressive and so beautiful...

The Girl with the Alhambra bracelet

I started Passionluxe.com in October 2005. Since then, I have been thinking of presenting some of my readers, simply because this blog would have no point of being without you! A couple of days ago, I told this to a friend of mine, Isil, and I go this reply: “Sounds great. I will send you an email soon”. And I got the email within a week with this short note: “Ankara, Turkey, some months ago. I am sure you will love a detail on those pictures!” That’s how Isil became the girl with the Alhambra bracelet.

Winter sun on the valley. In the background, you can see the Jura. Snow is finally here. Great ski sessions are coming soon!

The SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) will take place in Geneva next January. I am reading the watchmaking companies' press releases once more. I just found back the one of Baume & Mercier and the candle that came along with it. A warn thank you to Baume press team!

Since a couple of years, the brand has been restructuring its collection and I must admit I am a bit more convinced by the products year after year. The Capeland flyback chronograph presented by my fellow blogger Martin on his website named Leblogdesmontres is superb with its retro style.

A pop-up store for Monsieur Baron

It was in 2008, I think. Marie, who was a colleague of mine, called me as we had to discuss an important point. After finalizing the last details of our marketing operation, Marie told me that some of her friends were launching a shirt brand and that they were currently developing the retail network and the visibility of the brand named Mr. Baron. A couple of days later, I received a shirt from her with a short message: "Cette chemise vaut tous les discours marketing." that can be translated: "This shirt is worth all the marketing speeches". It was pretty self-confident, isn't it?

2011-12-Mrbaron1.jpg

2011-12-Mrbaron2.jpg

Actually, not really. We are now in 2011 and I still have the shirt that has been washed and ironed so many times (See pictures below and above) but it still looks almost brand new! I think that's the best proof of quality.

2011-12-Mrbaron3.jpg

2011-12-Mrbaron4.jpg

Unfortunately, Marie is not a colleague of mine anymore as we both continued our career in other places. However, Mr Baron is still on track. The brand just opened a pop-up store in Paris last Thursday (See pictures below).

Picture 1: A good Saturday afternoon always starts with a coffee (What else?)

Picture 2: Rado display in Globus. The Swiss watchmaking brand communicates on the slenderness of its calibers. Another proof (Do we still need one?) that this type of mechanical complication is a must-have.

Picture 3: A huge gold nugget in front of the Bucherer boutique. Interesting way to promote the exclusive positioning of the jewelery / watch making store and a good tool to protect the entrance against ram raids.

Picture 4: Swiss watchmaker and jeweler Piaget is working hard to finalize its new boutique in Zurich to open very soon.

Pictures 5 and 6: Ferrari. Dream car!
